Mrs. Hayhurst was born and raised in Madison and has enjoyed getting to know the Oregon community for many years. She loves teaching her students in the GEDO2 Program and Western Civilization class at Oregon High School. Her career in Oregon began two years ago after completing her certification in Broad Field Social Studies through Concordia University. She received her B.A. degree in History with a Women's Studies Certificate from the UW Madison, and her M.A.degree in History with an Archival, Museum and Editing Certificate from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh PA. After living abroad for nearly five years, Mrs. Hayhurst returned to Madison where she currently lives with her husband David and two boys, Alex and Aaron. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching old black and white movies, (especially The Thin Man series,) and exploring Wisconsin.
